Support Groups

These groups:

generally meet at the church

may or may not meet year-round

may have a limited class size

Afterloss

In association with the Grief Center of the Southern Tier, two support groups meet on a weekly basis: one for the loss of a child, and one for the loss of a spouse or loved one. These groups provide a safe and supportive environment that encourages a secure grieving process.

 

Alcoholics Anonymous

Breaking Free from Overeating

This small group is intended for women who feel that food has too much power in their lives, and focuses on physical, emotional, and spiritual perspectives.

 

DivorceCare

This program features nationally recognized experts on divorce and recovery topics.

 

Military Family Support

This home-based support group provides emotional and spiritual support to military families and loved ones.

 

Forgiven and Set Free: A Post-abortion Bible Study

God’s healing grace is the focus of this 12 week Bible study for women who have suffered a loss due to abortion in the past.

CARE Groups

Women’s Bible Study

Monday evening, Wednesday evening, and Friday morning groups are currently meeting. These groups are dedicated to being in God’s word, as well as establishing ties that will draw us closer to one another as we grow closer to the Father.

 

Men’s Fraternity

Designed to help men come together and strengthen each other through weekly sessions that combine biblical teaching and small group interaction. Four groups are available and offer two different curricula:

 

The Quest for Authentic Manhood gives men the tools needed to develop a personal plan for success in life. It is recommended that Quest be completed before the next topic.

Winning at Work & Home is a game plan for succeeding in these two key areas of life.

 

MOPS

Utilizing a lifestyle evangelism model, MOPS is an inviting environment where women with children from infancy through age six can build friendships, be encouraged, and gain practical parenting strategies.

 

Point of View Book Discussion Group

A monthly book discussion group meets at Barnes and Noble.

 

Sewing Group

Quilters and seamstresses enjoy individual and group projects with weekly fellowship.

 

Chick Flicks

Women of all ages meet monthly to share dinner, watch a movie, and talk about moral issues and biblical perspectives in today's culture.

 

Intercessory Prayer

This small group is for those with a heart for corporate prayer and worship.

GroupLink &
Community HOME Groups

GroupLink is a two-hour event where you can meet and connect with others in your area and/or stage of life to start a community HOME group. HOME groups are small groups of approximately 6-12 people who meet in someone’s home for fellowship, Bible study and prayer. They are for adults of all ages, stages of life and spiritual maturity.

 

Starter groups are asked to commit to meeting at least six times within a 12 week quarter. Groups will choose to meet weekly or bi-weekly during that time. You will spend that time getting to know each other and doing a short Bible study together. At the end of the quarter, you can choose to continue with your group, or try another by attending the next GroupLink event. GroupLinks are offered in fall, winter, and spring.
