What Is A Short Term Missions Trip?
A short term missions trip allows us to engage with society and show them God’s hope, love and transforming power? People today are seeking truth and hope in a market place of myths. One way we can engage is by going on a short-term mission trip. These trips allow people to build cross-cultural relationships, to show the love of Christ in places where there is no hope, and to help meet needs in the community.
A short term trip is a life changing experience. We have found that young people and adults alike are profoundly affected through these cross-cultural experiences. Short-term mission team members often have their global attitudes, their everyday actions, and their personal choices changed. Long-term cross-cultural relationships are developed, personal development occurs, spiritual gifts are practiced, and love for Jesus is shared. Participants quickly realize that their lives can make a difference both overseas and at home, as a result of giving to others.
Many people want to leave a legacy in their lifetime, a fingerprint on the lives of people. Will you leave a mark on the lives of people in your world?
